Report: Cavalera Conspiracy – Podium Victorie, Alkmaar – June 18th, 2026

Review by: Antonie

Doors opened and by the time Cavalera Conspiracy hit the stage at 9:15 PM the Grolsch Zaal was packed and ready. The reason for this tour was simple: celebrating the iconic “Chaos A.D.” album and playing it in full. And that is exactly what they delivered.

No intro tape, no slow build-up. They launched straight into “Refuse/Resist” and the pit exploded immediately. From the very first riff it was clear that Max and Iggor were not here to coast on nostalgia. This felt urgent, raw and alive. Song after song from Chaos A.D. followed and the crowd knew every single word. “Slave New World”, “Amen”, “Propaganda”, “Nomad”, “Manifest”, “The Hunt”, “Kaiowas”, “We Who Are Not as Others”, “Clenched Fist”, “Biotech Is Godzilla” and “Troops of Doom” — the full album, front to back, without a single filler moment.

Hearing Chaos A.D. performed live in its entirety is something else. These songs were written over thirty years ago but they hit just as hard today. Iggor behind the drumkit was an absolute force of nature and Max gave everything he had on that stage.

Cavalera Conspiracy-38Then came the first encore. “Territory” is one of those songs where Iggor’s drum intro alone is worth the price of a ticket. The whole room was singing along. And then came the real surprise of the night. Nobody expected a Black Sabbath cover and yet there they were, opening with “Electric Funeral” before launching into “Symptom of the Universe”. An absolutely brilliant choice that sent the crowd into a frenzy.

For the second encore they closed the night with “Chaos B.C.” and that was it. An hour and fifteen minutes of pure Brazilian metal fury in one of the best venues in the Netherlands.

If you grew up with Chaos A.D. this show was everything you could have asked for. And if you didn’t know the album that well, you definitely do now. A night to remember.

Hi, My Name is Antonie and I'm from The Netherlands. I fell in love with music at a young age and I am still discovering new types of music everyday. Some of my favorite bands are Bon Jovi, Creed, Powerwolf, Rob Zombie, Alice Cooper, Turisas, Misfits and Black Sabbath/Ozzy Osbourne. However I always say my musical taste varies between Black Metal and Disney. Since I started with a radio show on HeadbangersFM in 2014, I have been busy with doing interviews and writing reviews. In my spare time I also like to play videogames and I stream on Twitch.
