The festival season just started, which means we will visit Simandre-sir-Suram (France) for the Ragnard Rock Festival again this year. Last years’ experience was real a pleasant surprise, inspiring us to spontaneously write a review about it! So without thinking twice, we will join Ragnard Rock Festival this summer again!

With over 40 bands, Ragnard Rock Fest will be the biggest folk- and blackmetal festival of France. At Ragnard 2017, Norway is the guest of honor, with bands like: Kampfar, Hellheim, Taake en Satyricon. But we are also looking forward to see the Scottish Saor, UADA (USA), Angantyr (Denmark), Melechesch (Israel) and Acherontas (Greece), who will complete one of the most amazing line-ups of this summer. There will be two main stages and a folk stage for both bands and story tellers, something quite unique. The folk stage will be next to the Viking Village with a Viking market for those looking for real handmade goodies, traditional food and of course entertainment.

Ragnard Rock Fest is the festival for those who like both folk and black metal, but also for those who love to relax in the meadows, while overlooking the folk stage and enjoying a cold beer. While enjoying this tankard of ale, battling Vikings might just have finished each other on a (mock) battlefield and put their collective axes, swords and spears down to join you for a drink!
