A long standing tradition for the Metal-Exposure crew at Easter is not to search for eggs, join our families in merry feasting nor celebrate anything related to Christ. In the past years, we’ve found out that some of the best festivals in springtime are held in the Easter weekend. One of them is Dark Easter Metal Meeting in Munich, a festival we’ve already visited once in 2016. Check out that report here.
Just to give you an impression of the festival: it is held in the Backstage, Munich, a great location, with three different-sized halls, several places to chill and well located bars and food stands. We have especially fond memories of the cheeseburgers being sold there and hopefully that memory serves us right when we return in only a few weeks.
In the end you might also just go to a restaurant for a good burger. So, what more makes Dark Easter Metal Meeting worth the trip to Munich? Well, the line-up of course. MRW Concerts has provided a solid line-up every year, with the best of the extreme metal underground and also established bands. The headliners, varying from the best of black metal: Shining, Dark Fortress, Naglfar, death metal: Bloodbath and doom metallers Paradise Lost, are only a selection of the entire line-up (that you can see below).
So, summing up: if you have the weekend off, why not go on a roadtrip to the South of Germany and join us for a weekend of Easter burgers, extreme metal and breaking the rules of the Bavarian Tanzverbot?
