When we arrived at Bibelot one hour before the doors would open, there were already quite a lot of people waiting in front of the doors and had probably been there for some time. Maybe venues should consider opening up a terrace for people who show up hours before a concert even starts. Ka-ching! Back to the order of the day: Bibelot once was a small church and now a cute concert hall. When the doors opened, and everbody flowed inside (through pretty excessive security guys) it was clear that Bibelot would be filled up and warm inside, though the concert was not sold out.

Red Limo String Quartet played before ReVamp. After their intro, Floor joined on stage. They played a few After Forever songs: ‘Monolith of Doubt’, ‘Lonely’, ‘Cry with Smile’, ‘Strong’ and ‘Dreamflight’. It was nice to see a different kind of band playing before ReVamp instead of another female fronted metal band. Floor’s voice sounded very well togheter with the music of the Red Limo String Quartet, you can easily hear that Floor has one of the most powerful voices in metal.

After Red Limo String Quartet, it didn’t take very long before ReVamp entered the stage. This gig was the releasyparty of their new album, also called ReVamp. Songs they played from their new album: ‘Million’, ‘No Honey For The Damned’, ‘Here’s my Hell’, well actually they played almost every song on the new album, except for ‘Disgraced’ (according to the setlist). It wasn’t much of a suprise that Russel Alan (Symphony X) joined Floor on stage when she announced the song ‘Sweet Curse’. Nevertheless, Russel Alan’s voice is awesome, and blends very well togheter with Floor’s, their duet was one of highlights of the concert.

Besides ReVamp- songs, the band played a Lady Gaga cover: ‘Bad Romance’. I enjoyed it quite a lot, the metalversion of that song actually sounds great. ReVamp also played two after forever songs: ‘Face Your Demons’, with Floor wearing her small devilhorns and giving the crowd a well performed stage act. The encore consisted of ‘Head up High’ and after a few tries: After Forever’s ‘Energize me’ with the Red Limo String Quartet.

To conclude: ReVamp’s cd releaseparty was a big succes. The sound was good and both the crowd and the band were very enthousiastic, and clearly enjoying each others enthousiasm. I also think that most of the crowd enjoyed hearing some good ol’ After Forever songs. The ReVamp songs sound a lot better live then on cd, it’s a lot more powerful (though that is mostly the case with any band that plays live and has good sound). In the future, we will hear a lot more of this band!
