The power metal band Divided Multitude will release their third album this year called Guardian Angel. Being a band that has been around I started with the promo in good hopes that the music would rock me. The band is according to the material fantastic melodic progressive/power metal aka it’s a power metal band. After a introtrack the first track revealse a lot about the band. The vocals are not the high screeching power vocals I expected but are a bit rougher reminding me at first of a singer of Aïna (the musical). Though the music is rougher than expected it still remains not that interesting with not that refreshing riffs and a build up I have heard I guess 100 times. The second song confirmes my suspicions are confirmed. The band is just not that original and even the reasonable vocals start getting worse. It is in English with a lot of accent and are tedious. The guitar solo that is present in most tracks isn’t original enough and doesn’t take that much skill even though they do fit the music. The best track follows a little interludium and is called My Dying Hour (7th track).
Conclusion:
All in all I would not recommend this album. It does not bring anything new and the things they do do are not worth the listening session. Some power metal dudes who are into the heavier shit might like this band. But it is just not for me. The album does have one pre as it is one hour long so you get music for your money.
