Callisto – Providence
Callisto – Providence

Being a fan from the start of Callisto I was looking forward to their release of Providence for quite some time. I’ve never missed out on a dutch show of the guys and they keep getting better with every show. They play “post” metal ,are from Finland and this is their 3th full length.
Providence was quite shocking at first, the harsh screams are pretty much gone and instead there are clean vocals. I have to admit it took quite some time to get used to the change in sound but it’s definitely a positive change, it creates more possibilities for melody and makes the music more profound. The melodies are still beautiful and still as only Callisto can do it. This album has a lot to offer and I would recommend to give it a lot of spins since it keeps getting better and better! It’s definitely a bit softer than their older material but it’s has more substance. Be sure to check out this highly under appreciated band!
If you like bands like Cult of luna or Isis be sure to give this and the older albums of Callisto a spin, you shouldn’t miss out on this!
